             Domestic Violence

     

​     Supervisor: Program Coordinator/ Shelter Director

     Qualifications: Minimum requirements –Two years experience working in the social services field, clerical     

     knowledge, and knowledge of community agencies for referral purposes. The Shelter Advocate/ Crisis   

     Intervention Worker will provide assistance to full time staff members as well as direct services to survivors

     who seek agency services for domestic violence and sexual assault. The Crisis Intervention Worker

     responsibilities are as follows:


                    Greet survivors that enter the agency.

                    Assist with miscellaneous office duties.
                    Keep up-to-date on all community resources for referral purposes.
                    Maintain accurate case notes and service logs.
                    Assist clients in the shelter.
                    Process donations and document appropriately. 
                    Assist residents in the shelter by assuring necessary supplies are furnished (grocery, hygiene                              items), provide transportation, and make referrals to community resources.
                   

     Must be able to pass a BCI background check.

     Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and must be able to obtain and maintain           

     $100,000/$300,000 liability vehicle insurance.
     

     Light cleaning required within the office area and the shelter.

     Deep clean and sanitize the shelter when necessary.

     Follow all policies and procedures within the agency.

     Attend all trainings that are requested by the Executive Director & Program Coordinator/Shelter Director.

     Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to define problems, collect data, and make

     recommendations.

     Rotate on-call worker responsibilities.

     The Shelter Advocate/Crisis Intervention Worker may also be required to flex schedule to accommodate the         needs of survivors during times the office is closed. The Shelter Advocate/ Crisis Intervention Worker will             have a tentative monthly schedule.

     Job Type: Part-time

     Salary: $10.00 to $13.00 /hour
